Our Summer Social was a great success! We hope all who joined had a wonderful time and all who were not able to this year, we look forward to seeing you next time on a our most recently completed stream restoration project!

The Nohr Chapter of TU will be holding our 3rd Annual Summer Social on August 14 at the Bowers Rd access to the Blue River (Directions below). Members and interested parties invited.
Food will be served from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM, we will provide soda and water but feel free to bring your preferred beverage to drink responsibly. At 9:30 AM we will have some people and equipment to hold a casting clinic for anyone wanting help with some aspect of their casting.
Landowners for whom we have done stream restoration work or who may be considering a project will be invited to discuss their experience. This is also a chance to meet your Board members to discuss where projects have been completed and those planned for this and next year. Learn about some new fishing opportunities. Work is progressing on a new stretch further downstream on the Blue. Learn about this new water
DNR folks will be there and run a stream shocking demonstration. If you are not familiar with some of DNR’s online trout fishing tools, this will be a good chance to learn about them. There are great interactive access maps and info available.
We are planning a couple casting demos/contests (we’ll handicap anyone who is too good), after
all this is just for fun.
We especially welcome youngsters and will have some members who are experienced at teaching kids to fish, so if you have a son or daughter but haven’t had time to start them off on trout fishing, this is your chance. We will have some spin and bait folks if that is how you like to chase trout.
For ladies interested in cold water fishing who would like help getting started, our Nohr women’s advocate Carol Murphy will be attending. Please come join in – we will have rods for you or bring your own. Don’t worry about equipment or proper clothing – just wear sturdy shoes for walking on the stream and join us for some casual fun!
Finally, when we pack up the food at 4:00, if you would like to fish with a member who really knows the local streams, we will pair up and hit the water.
IMPORTANT: We hope you can find the time to attend. If you can make it, please RSVP by responding to this email so that we can plan the food. Bring a folding chair if you have one.
Hope to see you there.
